When Should You Start?
In Ohio, the mowing season typically runs from April through November. This timeframe is general and, of course, dependent on the weather.
When the grass starts growing again and the temperatures are consistently above 40 degrees Fahrenheit, you are officially in mowing season.
Mowing season typically ends around November when the temperature is consistently low enough for the grass to enter its dormant stage and stop growing for the winter.
Planning your beautiful garden looks a little different depending on what point in the year you got the idea, and what your current gardening space looks like.
If you got the idea mid-summer, pay attention to your plants as you get closer to the falls months. Which plants did well, which plants could be replaced with better options? Inspired in early spring? Be ready to plant right away!
